HAIKU STONE
PATH

History

Beginnings

The haiku stone path began in Sus's office several years ago as he and Jane visited web sites of companies providing and engraving stones. All we could find were grave stones and that was not what we wanted.

It was only during the big rock show, "Suiseki - Viewing Stones," in Febrary, 2013, that we met Arthur Horvath, from Mount Shasta. At his Ideal Quarry he not only digs stone out of the ground, he drags home rocks that appeal to him from all over California. Art had already found the beautiful stones we were looking for. And he had invented and developed a special saw for cutting rocks.

Then began the many emails as Art prepared various rocks for the haiku, and had them engraved. On May 4th he transported the finished stones to Gualala and we got to meet the rocks for the first time.
